Mr. Baron connects U.S. commercial real estate to capital most of the market can’t reach: an active network of UK and European institutions, family offices and lenders actively seeking U.S. CRE exposure, alongside direct, senior-level relationships across the U.S. private equity and credit-fund community. Based in Miami and a regular presence in New York, he stays close to the institutions that put this capital to work. A principal investor by background, he brings an owner’s eye to every mandate, building and scaling platforms, working through complicated and distressed situations, and extracting value where others see only risk. That makes him the call for repositioning, transitional and capital-intensive deals where the right structure and the right capital source decide whether value gets unlocked or left on the table.
Mr. Baron built his career in London over more than 20 years spanning the UK, Europe and the U.S., across hotels, multifamily, mixed-use and commercial assets. As a principal, he built a diversified property portfolio from the ground up, establishing joint ventures with private and institutional investors, and assembled a long-dated income vehicle with a major institutional pension fund. At De Vere Group, he played a pivotal role in a $2.5 billion asset workout with Lloyds Banking Group and repositioned the $500 million Village Hotel, Malmaison and Hotel du Vin portfolios from distress through to disposal. At Stonehage Fleming, one of Europe’s largest independent wealth managers with $36 billion under management, he structured cross-border investments for institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients, including U.S.-connected families: the foundation of the international capital network he now brings to U.S. deals.
